Dr. Turner grew up in a small town in Mississippi where he grew up with animals. He volunteered in kennels and worked as a veterinary assistant prior to attending Mississippi State University for undergraduate studies and veterinary school. Dr. Turner enjoys the day-to-day variety of general practice including wellness and primary care surgery and medicine, and he loves forming lasting relationships with his patients and pet owners. He is Fear Free certified and a certified Rat Tickler, and he has additional training in biomedical research focused on molecular and tissue based laboratory diagnostics. 

When not caring for patients in the hospital, Dr. Turner enjoys cooking, painting, and catching up on a good book.
