Dr. Nino Garrolini

Dr. Nino Garrolini is the founder of Channel Islands Veterinary Hospital and Las Posas Veterinary Medical Center. Born in La Crescenta, CA, where he attended elementary school, he spent his middle-school years in Singapore and went to high school in the Philippines. He returned to the U.S. to obtain his BS degree in Marine Biology from Cal State Long Beach, then received his DVM in the Philippines and completed his clinical rotation at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Dr. Garrolini enjoys all aspects of the veterinary field but has a special interest in orthopedic and soft-tissue surgeries (especially reconstructive knee surgery), as well as diagnosing and treating challenging cases in internal medicine.

Animals that have shared Dr. G’s life include two kittens that were just a few days old when they were found on the beach in Pt. Hueneme. Once they were healthy, Dr. G brought them home to his family where Dutchess and Banksie lived happily for 16 and 17 years. Sharing the kitties’ home over the years were their buddies Deacon and Star (Dobermans) and CD (a Golden Retriever). Currently, they one four-legged family member, Matilda, a Golden Retriever affectionately known as “Tilly” or “Silly Tilly.” Outside of work, Dr. G enjoys cycling, sailing, skiing, traveling, wine collecting and cooking.
