Client Center

Welcome to Channel Islands Veterinary Hospital!

We want your visit to be the very best veterinary experience you’ve ever had! We are all animal lovers, and we work hard to create a warm, clean and inviting environment. As our client, you can expect us to devote our full attention to you and your pet’s needs and provide your pet with exceptional veterinary care. See below for the various resources we have available for you.

Your first visit establishes a vital foundation for our relationship with you and your pet. During this visit, we will make sure to obtain important background information. Please bring in any medical history/records you have. It is important for us to have a complete understanding of your pet’s health and lifestyle through his or her life, including behavioral changes.

When you arrive for your pet’s appointment you will be greeted by one of our friendly Client Service Representatives. A veterinary nurse will invite you into an exam room, where you will be asked some preliminary questions. Your pet will then be weighed and have his/her temperature taken. If you have any questions or concerns, please inform the nurse so they can be noted in the patient medical record and addressed by the doctor.

One of our doctors will meet with you and obtain a thorough history about your pet’s health and lifestyle. He or she will perform a complete physical examination on your companion and discuss any findings, as well as answer questions or concerns you may have. We want to make sure you’re completely comfortable with the information we’re providing.

When necessary, the doctor will create an individual care plan for your pet. Our hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and an in-house laboratory where most tests can be performed. An outside veterinary laboratory transports samples twice daily when more extensive testing is needed.

Depending on the nature of your visit, you may see a nurse again to provide you with further educational information. Once you return to the reception area, the doctor will complete the medical record and instruct the nurse to fill any prescriptions needed. Our Customer Service Representative will prepare your invoice, schedule any follow-up appointments, and review medications with you.

We look forward to meeting you and your pet!
